GACT - Genome Annotation Clustering Toolkit - is a software suite which uses at its core a Self Organizing Map neural network to perform unbiased whole genome cluster analyses to explore annotated feature space.
GACT can be configured to automate the extraction of gene, transcript and feature data from any genome database via the Ensembl API and to populate a local MySQL database. It then allows users to identify predictive features within a sample set using a Self Organising Map (SOM) module and dedicated GUI.
GACT (and documentation) is freely available for download under a creative commons license. The software is provided as Perl, C++ and Java source code and is supported on Linux, MS Windows and Mac OS X.
